The weekend’s long emotional rollercoaster (and showcase for middle of the road contemporary incidental music) is now over – the judges have deliberated in their “houses” and the final 12 acts have been chosen for the live finals of the X Factor.
But wait, there’s a TWIST! Who saw that coming?
One of the judges will have an extra act when Simon Cowell’s talent show behemoth reaches Fountain Studios in Wembley next weekend. Louis, Tulisa, Gary and Nicole have all picked a “wildcard” from their judges’ houses losers to face a public vote, meaning the final 12 will end up a rather unlucky final 13 (let’s hope that luck doesn’t rub off on the ratings).
The acts up for a reprieve are Christopher Maloney (Over 30s), Adam Burridge (Boys), Amy Mottram (Girls) and Times Red (Groups).
Here’s what their mentors have to say about them:
Louis Walsh on his choice of group, Times Red (right) says: “There is something different about this group. We have two young boybands so these guys will appeal to older girls.”
Now if you’re feeling flush, and actually want to affect the outcome of the competition, you can dial/text the X Factor and pay 35 pence for the privilege.
However, if you want to register your interest in a completely free just-for-fun-doesn’t-affect-the-outcome sort of way… then enter our poll below…
