Actress Sydney Sweeney has reportedly had a cameo appearance from the upcoming sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2.

According to a report in Entertainment Weekly, the Euphoria star saw her scene, which would have appeared near the start of the film, cut from the finished film.

Sweeney is having a banner 2026 thanks to The Housemaid, the return of Euphoria and the long-awaited Gundam movie heading in front of the cameras – but her star power wasn’t enough to save her cameo in the Anne Hathaway/Meryl Streep-led sequel.

The plot of the new film sees Hathaway, Streep and Stanley Tucci as Andy Sachs, Miranda Priestly and Nigel reluctantly re-teaming in an attempt to rehabilitate Runway's image following an unknown scandal.

Along the way, the trio seek help from Emily Blunt’s character Emily Charlton, who is now the boss at Dior.

As EW reported, Sweeney’s scene was set at the Dior offices, where she played a fictionalised version of herself, and one of Blunt’s clients.

Unfortunately, as is often the case, Sweeney’s scene didn’t make the cut, with EW citing structural reasons for the omission.

Radio Times has reached out to 20th Century Studios and Sweeney's reps for comment.

The original film was packed with cameos, including appearances from Heidi Klum and Valentino Garavani, and the sequel is set to continue that star-studded trend.

While Sweeney won’t be appearing in the final film, we do know that Lady Gaga will have a cameo role in addition to working heavily on the film's soundtrack, alongside pop icons like Doechii and Madonna.

We’ll have to wait to see what other cameos did make the cut when the film is released on May 1st.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is released in UK cinemas on 1 May.
