Three years after the final season of Prime Video's Jack Ryan series came to an end, John Krasinski is back in the title role for a new sequel film, titled Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War.
Ahead of the film's release on Wednesday 20 May, a new trailer has been unveiled, giving us a glimpse of the action that he is in for this time around.
The trailer also sees the return of fan favourite characters including Wendell Pierce's James Greer, Michael Kelly's Mike November and Betty Gabriel's Elizabeth Wright, while introducing us to the new characters played by Layer Cake's Sienna Miller, Hotel Babylon's Max Beesley, The Peripheral's JJ Feild and Black Mirror's Douglas Hodge.

The synopsis for the film says that it sees Jack being "reluctantly thrust back into the world of espionage when an international covert mission unravels a deadly conspiracy, forcing him to confront a rogue black-ops unit, and the clock is ticking".
The synopsis continues: "Operating in real time with lives on the line and the threat escalating at every turn, Jack reunites with battle-tested CIA operative Mike November (Kelly) and former CIA boss James Greer (Pierce), their combined experience the only edge they have against an enemy who knows their every move.
"Backed by an unlikely new partner – razor-sharp MI6 officer Emma Marlowe (Miller) – Jack and the team navigate a treacherous web of betrayal, facing a past they thought was long put to rest – making this the most personal, high-stakes mission any of them have ever faced."

The film has been written by Aaron Rabin and Krasinski, based on a story Krasinski developed with Noah Oppenheim.
Speaking with Collider back in May 2025, Krasinski said that the film would include "all the big fun action movie stuff that we didn't get to do in a television show".
