Strictly Come Dancing’s line-up continues to impress for 2014 as EastEnders star Jake Wood and Casualty actress Sunetra Sarker are added.
Wood is best-known for playing Enders bad boy Max Branning, who does more womanizing than dancing around Albert Square. How Branning would feel about those sequins…
Luckily, Wood seems more up for it.
“I’m really relishing the prospect of hitting the Strictly dance floor this year,” he says adding, “I’m doing it for all the dads out there – and you never know, there’s always a chance of being the first Walford resident to take home the glitterball… bring it on!”
Sarker has had roles in Doctor Who, Brookside and No Angels but is probably best-known for her part as Dr Zoe Hanna in Casualty.
“I don’t quite know what I’ve let myself in for… I’m in total denial,” she says. “But the chance to swap my stethoscope for sequins was just too tempting. I am very excited to be part of the Strictly team.”
That’s eight contestants now ready and raring to go with Judy Murray, Simon Webbe, Thom Evans, Mark Wright, Frankie Bridge and Alison Hammond also confirmed.
Emma is RadioTimes.com’s resident reality TV expert and is most likely to be found chasing Simon Cowell down the street, cancelling her social life to keep up with the latest batch of sob stories and trying to get selfies with celebrities. Emma is a chat show addict and quotes Friends more than is probably healthy.
