Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

Sadly, there are very few laughs to be found in this raunchy, vulgar, profanity-filled comedy. Loosely based on a true story, it follows two brothers - Mike (Adam Devine) and Dave (Zac Efron) - who ruin every family gathering with their booze-fuelled antics. As their sister prepares to get married, the boys are instructed to be on their best behaviour, with their parents insisting that each of them bring a nice, respectable girl to the wedding. Deciding to post an ad on the internet, Mike and Dave attract the interest of two hard-drinking party girls (Aubrey Plaza, Anna Kendrick), both of whom pretend to be smart and wholesome. This situation results in one or two semi-amusing moments, but most of the gags fall flat, while far too many are dragged out to the point that they are no longer funny. Simply put, Mike and Dave need a better film.
