Several big names were in action on the opening day yesterday (Saturday 18 April), including Mark Williams and Mark Allen, while defending champion Zhao Xintong was also in action on day one as he took on Liam Highfield.
That latter clash was the only one of the opening day fixtures to reach a conclusion, with the other matches set to continue today – including the blockbuster early tie between Allen and Zhang Anda.
Drama at the Crucible will continue to bubble over the next few days as players aim to clear their first hurdle.
