National pride is on the line at the annual event, which sees riders represent their country rather than a trade team and champions crowned in 13 disciplines.

The 21-year-old followed up her U23 success last year with a silver medal in the women's time trial in Montreal on Sunday, finishing 40.11 seconds behind back-to-back champion Marlen Reusser.

Tom Pidcock is the British hope in the men's road race, while Lauren Dickson and Pfeiffer Georgi lead the Team GB challenge in the women's event.
