Disaster has struck for Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) on the eve of her daughter Zoe Slater's (Michelle Ryan) funeral in EastEnders.

Poor Kat has had a difficult time since her eldest child suddenly passed away. She became increasingly dependent on alcohol and earlier this month, suffered a breakdown.

After insulting all of her family, she knocked son Tommy (Sonny Kendall) to the floor in anger, and husband Alfie (Shane Richie) knew that the time had come to intervene.

Unfortunately, she declared their marriage over and then rushed off to Epping Forest - with the intention of going there to die. Kat was shivering on the ground, and eventually lost consciousness. Alfie rushed to his wife's aid, and when she eventually woke, she claimed that she'd seen Zoe.

Kat then explained that it wasn't death she was seeking, but love. And although Alfie would give her that in abundance, she wasn't sure whether it would be enough. Through laboured breathing, Kat then asked a big favour of Alfie - she wanted help in tracking down the man who was last with Zoe, and when they do, for him to die too.

As viewers know, this mystery fella is Max Branning (Jake Wood).

In today's episode, Zoe's daughter Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness) was preparing an emotional eulogy to deliver at the funeral, though was receiving no help from Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) and Mo Harris (Laila Morse).

She then headed to speak to twin brother Josh Goodwin (Joshua Vaughan), and was saddened that he'd went to visit his adoptive mother Sandra (Dawn Steele).

Back at The Vic, Jean opened up the box containing the order of services and was stunned to see that they'd accidentally been printed with Mo's name rather than Zoe's. That, combined with the fact her children Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Sean (Robert Kazinsky), plus Zoe's older sisters Mo (Kacey Ainsworth), Lynne (Elaine Lordan) and Belinda (Carli Norris) were unable to attend, meant that the ceremony was bound for disaster.

Luckily, Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) came to her rescue with a tip she'd learnt from the late Caron Keating on an episode of Blue Peter during her childhood. They were to place stickers over Mo's name, and write Zoe's over the top.

Exactly why Blue Peter were demonstrating this to children wasn't quite clear - but it worked.

The trio had just finished their work in The Prince Albert when Jean mistakenly knocked a drink over a customer, forcing Jasmine to rush to her rescue. The Slaters were so impressed by her behaviour, and compared her to Zoe.

With this in mind, Jasmine told Kat that she wanted to officially change her surname to honour her mother.

Later, Kat continued to struggle with her grief and while knocking back drinks at the bar with Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), began an altercation with another customer.

She stole his bank card and waltzed outside, and when two police officers approached, one was knocked to the ground. As a result, Kat, Cindy and the customer were all arrested.

Will Kat make it to Zoe's funeral?
