Jodie Ramsey's (Olivia Frances Brown) trinket box has been discovered in Coronation Street.

Since the character's arrival in January, viewers have seen her squirrelling away a random collection of objects.

It started with a picture of Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) – to intensify her fears around stalker Mal Roper (Tim Treloar) – and a book belonging to Brian Packham (Peter Gunn).

It seemed that her behaviour stemmed from the fact that Shona has had what she perceives as a wonderful life, while she was left to care for their unwell father. As a result, her collection is of bizarre items that she knows other people have taken pride in owning.

In June, she took something far more sinister.

Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) had acquired a gun from his associate Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer), and slid it towards uncle Kevin (Michael Le Vell) - instructing him to fire it.

Kevin had seen Tyrone Dobbs's (Alan Halsall) video of Carl cutting his brakes, and a huge argument had escalated. Kev and Tyrone were stunned when he produced the weapon, and Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) refused to allow them to leave until they'd sorted out their problems.

A scuffle ensued and the weapon was fired, though ultimately, nobody was hurt.

That night, Carl disposed of the gun under the wheel of a car, under instruction from Fiona. She'd told him to deliver it to a contact, who would be picking it up from the secret location.

However, little did Carl realise, Jodie was watching his every movement and managed to grab it before Fiona's dodgy associate. She delighted in the discovery and placed it in her trinket box of items.

In today's episode, David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) headed to Norcross Prison to meet with sister Sarah (Tina O'Brien), after discovering that Jodie was the one who attacked her in April.

During the conversation, Sarah alluded to Jodie's trinket box - though David and wife Shona (Julia Goulding) were unable to locate it when they returned to the cobbles.

Having retired to bed, their daughter Lily (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) wandered downstairs to locate her confiscated console device. She reached under the sofa and pulled out a number of storage bags, and hidden in the bottom was the box.

As she opened it, her eyes widened in horror to find the gun.

What will Lily do with it?
