The walls have closed in on Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) in Coronation Street.

Last month, a flashback took us to the night of Theo Silverton's (James Cartwright) death. Sarah had left Carla and Lisa Connor-Swain's (Alison King and Vicky Myers) wedding, concerned about best pal Todd Grimshaw's (Gareth Pierce) wellbeing.
She arrived at the corner shop flat, began calling his phone, and wondered why it was ringing from outside.
Climbing out onto the scaffolding, Sarah was spooked to find Theo. He implied that he'd done something to Todd, and branded her a "whore" for having two children by two different fathers.
He then remembered that she'd once had a child with Todd, who was born prematurely and died in 2004. Theo outright claimed that Sarah was still hoping to reconnect with his husband, and that her behaviour was pathetic.

He lunged towards her, and fearing for her life, she grabbed a piece of scaffolding in self-defence. She then whacked him across the head, which sent him flying down to the pavement below.
She summoned ex-boyfriend Gary Windass (Mikey North), and in a bid to protect her, he ordered her off to the Platt residence to get an alibi. Of course – as we know – when she got to No. 8, Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) whacked her around the head with an ornament.
Sarah later confessed everything to her copper boyfriend Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), and it became apparent that his biggest issue was that she turned to Gary for help rather than him.
Despite that, he was adamant that the spotlight was very much on Gary, and that she needn't be worried.
In today's episode, he quizzed his superior McLaughlin (Michelle Tate), though she was keen not to give too much away about the investigation. However, during a conversation with Sarah, he told her that he was pretty sure that Gary would be missing his son's awards ceremony later that day.
Kit wanted to ensure that he knew everything about Sarah's involvement, and asked her where she put the clothes that were worn on the fateful night. She suddenly remembered that they were taken away as evidence following Jodie's attack on her, and she hadn't got them back.

Despite Kit's efforts to obtain and destroy this evidence, a group of police smashed their way through Sarah's door and arrested her on suspicion of murder.
When news reached Gary, he struggled to hold back his tears.
Later, after some intense questioning, Kit took a call from Sarah at the station and tried to reassure her that everything would be OK. He protested her innocence to McLaughlin, who ordered him to stay out of the case.
Soon afterwards, he rounded on Gary and pointed out that it was his fault that they were in this mess. If they'd dialled emergency services, the jury might've believed that Sarah acted in self-defence.
But does this mean that Gary has walked away scot-free?
