A couple of weeks ago, his girlfriend Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) suffered two strokes. This formed part of a wider storyline that explores the devastating, life-altering reality of non-fatal strangulation.

Betsy was rushed to hospital, where doctors confirmed that she'd suffered a stroke as a result of a blood clot that had formed following artery damage in her neck and a temporary loss of circulation. Soon after, she suffered another stroke, and questions began to be asked about how the incident happened.

Embarrassed and vulnerable, Betsy admitted that boyfriend Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) strangled her during consensual sex – both believing that the pressure applied was minimal.

Mum Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) was enraged and reported him to the police, despite Betsy's insistence that she didn't want him getting into trouble.

Best pal Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) was equally as angry, and even went as far as to bar Dylan and dad Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) from the Rovers Return.

In today's episode, she and Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) paid a visit to see Betsy, and were horrified to learn that Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) had invited Dylan over the previous day.

Seeing how much Betsy was struggling with her speech therapy, Lauren asserted that Dylan must be held accountable and pay for what he did. Brody then confronted Dylan in the caff, ordering him to stay well away as he wasn't welcome at No. 6.

Dylan reckoned that Brody was just jealous because Betsy hadn't shown interest in him, and a physical fight was about to ensue. Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) stepped in and separated them, but the drama wasn't over.

Later that day, she'd find Dylan unconscious in the precinct.

He'd had an explosive row with Lauren, who slapped him across the face in frustration. She wasn't pleased that he was unwilling to accept responsibility, and pushed him down to the floor while he tried to defend himself. Dylan smacked his head off the ground, and passed out.

Later, in A&E, Nina expressed concerns that Brody could be the one responsible given what she'd witnessed earlier. After hearing that his son had concussion, Sean was relieved to hear there would be no long-term damage.

Dylan quickly told a lie, saying that he'd tripped and fallen, though Nina was reluctant to believe his claims. Lauren then called by, begging him to not say anything and apologising for losing her temper.

What will Dylan do?
