The Vampire Lestat trailer confirms series will adapt disturbing storyline as fans anticipate dark scenes
Rockstar Lestat will have some interesting encounters to say the least.

The Vampire Lestat (aka Interview with the Vampire season 3) is about to get even more monstrous, as it's set to adapt one of the most disturbing storylines from Anne Rice's novels.
Sam Reid (Lestat) and Jacob Anderson (Louis) are returning to lead the new instalment, which will follow Lestat de Lioncourt as he becomes a rockstar, gathering as many fans as he can in a bid to correct the narrative in Daniel's (Eric Bogosian) book.
But, along the way, he has some rather unexpected encounters to say the least. Shots from the newly-released trailer show Lestat kissing his own mother, Gabriella (Jennifer Ehle) - or Gabrielle, as she's known in the books - among other intimate scenes between the pair, confirming that the show will adapt their incredibly complex relationship.
In Rice's novels, Lestat turns his mother into a vampire when she is on her deathbed and, after that, he no longer sees her as his mother, with their companionship falling somewhere in between familial and romantic. At points in the books, they kiss and share other intimate scenes, with their relationship very much having incestuous undertones.

After her transformation, Gabrielle's personality also completely changes and she becomes uninterested in human life. She also prefers to dress in men's clothing. While she and Lestat grow less close over time due to their different desires, she often reappears when he's in trouble.
While it'll obviously be a disturbing storyline to see play out, many fans are relieved it's going to be adapted, as it's a big part of Lestat's life and goes some way to explain why he is the way he is. However, it remains to be seen just how the pair's relationship will be handled.

The trailer also sees Lestat declaring: "I’m immortal… I’ve been a monster. This is my reckoning," as he sings his version of Billy Idol's Dancing With Myself.
After two seasons of telling Louis's story, the spotlight will be on Reid's Lestat for season 3 - hence the show's title change.
This time round, we'll see rockstar Lestat embarking on a multi-city tour, with his popularity and power rapidly increasing while he's haunted by muses from his past.
