Celebrity Traitors has cemented its place as a household favourite through the course of season 2 – but there’s one star who is too scared to face the turret.

Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham has confirmed that she was approached to enter the Scottish castle during season 1.

Speaking on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Waddingham spoke with the talk show host about their shared love of reality TV.

When Hudson asked if there was a reality show Waddingham would like to appear in, she confessed: “I was asked to be on the first Celebrity Traitors in the UK.

“Yeah, my great buddy Nick Mohammed from Ted Lasso is on it. I nearly did because I knew he was gonna be on it. “

"But I’m a big scaredy cat," she added. “So, this whole thing with the hoods and the burying people alive – I don’t care whether there’s a crew there or not – hell no. No, no.

“I’m going to watch it at home with a nice red wine and some crisps."

During the creation of the first season, Waddingham was a long-standing rumoured participant, but ultimately only Nick Mohammed represented the Ted Lasso gang.

Mohammed made it all the way to the final, only to fall at the final hurdle after being successfully duped by traitor Alan Carr into thinking he was a faithful.

Although Mohammed didn’t take home the cash prize, he is still very much a member of the Traitors Universe – and has now taken over Claudia Winkleman’s role for the stage play version of the beloved cloak-and-dagger game.

Meanwhile, Waddingham has returned to the world of Ted Lasso as AFC Richmond boss Rebecca Welton, with the Apple TV comedy making a shock return to screens for a fourth season focusing on the women’s team.

It’s yet to be confirmed if Ted Lasso will be back for a fifth season, but as one of the Apple's biggest success stories, we’re sure to find out soon.
