Clarkson's Farm season 5 concluded on an emotional note when Jeremy Clarkson broke the news that he had been diagnosed with "aggressive" prostate cancer in the final episodes.

He assured co-stars Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland that the cancer had been caught early and that he had a procedure to remove the cancer, but said it had "gone awry".

"I’m going to be here for a little while. I don’t know what’s going to happen," he told viewers. "What I wanted to say was if this is all successful, I’ll see you in season six, and if it isn’t, I won’t. Take care, everyone."

In a new interview, however, Clarkson has now confirmed his cancer is in remission, saying he's "the world's luckiest man".

The presenter urged men to get tested, crediting the good news to being diagnosed early thanks to a test.

Clarkson also confirmed that Clarkson's Farm will indeed be returning for season 6, putting and end to uncertainty about the show's future.

"I am delighted to tell you season 6 of Clarkson’s Farm is currently being filmed, it’s in production," he said on Instagram. "And that’s particularly good news for me because, well if you know you know. And if you don’t know, you need to watch season 5."

While Prime Video hasn't officially announced a recommission of the hit series, Jeremy Clarkson previously jumped the gun and announced it himself.

In his Sunday Times newspaper column earlier this year, Clarkson revealed that filming of the sixth season had been suspended because of the poor weather.

Though in planning documents submitted West Oxfordshire District Council (via The Independent), season 6 is on the way and could air in the summer of 2027.

A section of it reads: "Season five will air this year and season six has been commissioned and will air in summer 2027."

Clarkson has previously expressed interest in wanting to do future seasons, telling The Sun: "We’ll definitely do six – Amazon want to (do series six) and I want to. I’ve got a good idea for six.

"I said I’ll stop doing them when there are no more ideas. But I’ve got two quite good ones, so we’ll do six and then we’ll see…"

It's not yet known whether season 6 will be delayed following Clarkson's treatment for prostate cancer.

What could happen in a potential Clarkson's Farm season 6?

Season 6 of Clarkson's Farm could cover a variety of highs and lows facing Diddly Squat, but back in January, Clarkson hinted that should it snow in the UK filming for season 6 would resume.

There was snowfall in both January and February this year, meaning we could expect a snowy visit to Diddly Squat.

Speaking of a potential sixth season, Clarkson told The Sun: "We've never had a rest, we wrap a series and immediately start again because farming doesn't stop.

"You harvest and you're immediately start drilling for the next year.

"So, but this time Kaleb's gone off to Australia, he's filming down there at the moment, I was doing Millionaire Hot Seat and I really wanted to have a holiday because I haven't had one in ages.

"So we just said 'OK, well let's just actually wrap it'… and then, I just said, 'If it snows we'll start filming again.'"

Given Clarkson's decision to share candid insights into his cancer diagnosis and treatment at the end of season 5, it's possibly season 6 will also feature further documentation of his health journey.
