Andy Murray and his wife Kim will star in a new documentary series for Channel 4 following their work on Cromlix – a sprawling estate that has become a luxury travel destination.

In the three-part series, titled Our Scottish Hotel, the pair open the doors to the Victorian mansion they first acquired in 2013 across a year of renovations and transformations on the Cromlix property.
Cromlix was initially built back in 1878, with a property remaining on the site ever since. The estate became a favourite of the Murray family, who have thrown events held there dating back to the '80s, including Andy’s grandparents’ Silver, Gold and Diamond wedding anniversaries.
Andy and Kim Murray also married on the estate in 2015, two years after they acquired it.
In an ambitious overhaul, the Murrays and an 80-strong team begin work on a new wing with two new restaurants, starting while Cromlix is still open for business as a hotel.

Following the highs and lows of the new renovations, staff, builders and guests share the estate before the hotel closes for a five-month period to complete the transformation.
According to the announcement, Our Scottish Hotel promises to be “warm, revealing and full of character” and “celebrates the people whose passion makes five-star service appear effortless” and makes it such a go-to destination.
Will the risk pay off for the Murrays?
Speaking about the new series, Kim Murray said: “The last couple of years have been really full of change at Cromlix with a huge building project and a totally new direction for fine dining and wellness, and I was really keen to document that as there were so many personal stories and interesting discoveries along the way.

“Andy and I haven’t worked on anything together before, so that was a fascinating process – and a learning curve! I’ve loved shaping this building and estate into what’s now become a really thriving and much-loved Scottish business.
“I hope people enjoy watching the show and meeting the team behind the hotel.”
Emily Shields, commissioning editor for Channel 4, said: "Cromlix is a fascinating world to step inside, and this series offers a rare glimpse behind the scenes of a business where no detail is overlooked.
"Kim and Andy are embarking on an ambitious transformation, but at its heart this is a story about people: the team whose hard work brings Cromlix to life, and the shared desire to create something truly special.
"We’re delighted to be bringing viewers this warm, intimate and revealing look at life behind the doors of one of Scotland’s most distinctive hotels."
Our Scottish Hotel is coming soon to Channel 4.
