Jennifer English delivers emotional speech upon winning Best Actor at BAFTA Games Awards
It took an expedition, but Clair Obscur finally got its awards

Pre-show favourite and leading nominee at the BAFTA Games Awards 2026 Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 walked away with three big prizes at the star-studded show: Best Game, Best Debut Game and Best Lead Actor.
Heading into this year’s glitzy BAFTA Games Awards show, Clair Obscur had nominations across 12 different categories, including Best Game, Game Design, performance awards, Best Music and all of the technical awards.
Somewhat surprisingly, it won only three – arguably the ‘big three’ – as Dispatch and Ghost of Yōtei picked up a handful each also.

Jennifer English took to the stage to receive her award for Best Lead Actor and was clearly emotional doing so.
She said, “So I was sorting out my stuff the other day and I found my vision board photographs… and I realised every single one had come true except from a BAFTA award. So believe in that s***, guys, it really works!
“Actors, we’re just the icing on the b***** cake. The developers are the cake… Thank you to every single one of you… And thank you to my amazing cast… and thank you to so many of you in this room who are my friends for life.
“I love you all. I love video games. Yay. Thanks!”
Dispatch thoroughly deserves all the wins it received in a night full of surprising results, musical performances, and Big Zuu talking about how he’s still stuck on ‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot’ on Medium on Guitar Hero 3.
Atomfall took home the coveted award for Best British Game, while Blue Prince bagged the Game Design award.
South of Midnight won the Best New Intellectual Property award, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II picked up the Narrative Award, while Death Stranding 2: On The Beach won the Artistic Achievement award.
It was a great evening for video games all told, but in particular, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 which won Best Game and for Jennifer English who won Best Lead Actor.
