Summary
Alison and Larry go to Billericay where they meet Russell Tovey, who played Budgie - Russell and Larry then get Alison to join them on a unique-looking electric bike.

What’s occurring? Well, Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb — Gavin & Stacey’s Pam and Mick Shipman — embark on a 200-mile jaunt between that sitcom’s prime locations. But M25 and M4 would be un unphotogenic bore, so there are lots of fun detours along the way.
In the first of three stages, they meet Russell Tovey (G&S’s Budgie) for a quadracycle around Epping Forest, have a facial in a Bucks country house (lush!) and steer a Dutch barge along a scenic stretch of the Thames. An indulgence, then, and one designed to accommodate their interests, but Steadman and Lamb (friends since 1997’s BBC comedy drama The Missing Postman) are as fun to be with as you imagined Pam and Mick were, with bants, good-natured ribbing and even some spontaneous singing.
As for what all Gavin & Stacey fans would like to know, Alison at one point says, “I’d love to do another Christmas special.” Writers James Corden and Ruth Jones are bound to be watching. Over to them…
