The news was first confirmed by Deadline, with the duo set to star in the film written and directed by Will Graham (Daisy Jones & The Six). Groff's role was originally to be played by Lucas Hedges, but Hedges had to pull out due to scheduling issues.

Trust the Man, which is set to shoot in New Jersey this summer, and will follow an ambitious Army Intelligence officer who’s assigned to investigate a decorated soldier with a mysterious past during the Vietnam War.

As surveillance and interrogation deepen, the line between loyalty and obsession blurs, leading both men into a dangerous and uncontrollable connection.

The trio became close, with Groff going on to officiate Mendez's wedding to fellow actor J Alex Brinson, while Radcliffe was a ring bearer.

As well as his starring role in the Harry Potter films, Radcliffe has also had parts in movies including Horns, What If, Swiss Army Man, Now You See Me 2, Imperium, Guns Akimbo and The Lost City, as well as series such as Miracle Workers.
