Apex is the latest action thriller to hit Netflix and it sees Charlize Theron's Sasha, a climber and general thrill-seeker, come head-to-head with Ben, an Australian serial killer played by Taron Egerton. Packed with suspense and a healthy amount of gore, the film features an occasionally bold soundtrack as well as a tight, bespoke score.

Theron and Egerton are both award-winning actors, but fans of their previous films might be in for a surprise with Apex, which features Egerton in his most chilling role to date.

As for that music, the majority of the score for Apex was composed by Högni Egilsson (under his mononym Högni), whose previous work includes the soundtracks for Apex director Baltasar Kormákur's series Katla, his film Touch, and BBC One series King & Conqueror.

As Kormákur had directed on King & Conqueror, Apex marks Egilsson's fourth collaboration with the director.
