Foyle's War
Overview
The Second World War rages across Europe, but back in Hastings, Detective Chief Superintendent Foyle is battling murder, mystery and betrayal on the Home Front, in this period crime drama. With most of the experienced manpower away fighting, Foyle takes a chance on injured ex-soldier Paul Milner, who proves an excellent Sergeant, despite his troubled personal life. Enthusiastic vicar's daughter Samantha is Foyle's driver, who longs to get involved in the investigations. For Foyle is a man to inspire loyalty, his integrity and judgement shaped by service in the Great War, and he'll stand by his decisions, even when they conflict with the powers that be.
