Disney animated feature, with animals taking the roles of the characters in the Robin Hood legend. Dastardly Prince John and the mean Sheriff of Nottingham are up to their old tricks - levying heavy taxes and making people's lives a misery. But, never fear, help is at hand in the shape of Robin Hood, that fearless fox who steals from the rich to feed the poor.
This Disney cartoon may not have the heart or the memorable songs of the studio's classics, but the result is still a pleasant and entertaining diversion for children. Here, it's Robin Hood and his Merry Men-agerie, as all the legendary Nottingham characters have been drawn as animals in a delightful retelling of the "rob from the rich, give to the poor" Sherwood Forest tale. Villainous lion Prince John (voiced by Peter Ustinov) and slimy snake Sir Hiss (Terry-Thomas) provide the funniest moments, while the archery contest-turned-American football match is an action highlight.
