Our Score
Earth is blistered by a magnetic blast of solar energy accompanied by a suffocating cloud of red-hot gas in this disappointing, derivative disaster movie. It follows the fomula to a T, but is lacking in all departments. The characters are a motley collection of Identikit caricatures: James Remar's disillusioned doctor, Kathryn Morris's self-sacrificing schoolteacher and Jonathan LaPaglia's opportunist criminal give no dramatic value to the hackneyed script. And to make it all so much worse, there are special effects that look like something someone did earlier on Blue Peter. Only watch it if you really must.

Summary
