If you're happy with the notion that a woman isn't complete without a husband you won't instantly reject this undemanding, outdated romantic comedy. Paula Patton plays a flight attendant who is terminally unlucky in love. When her younger sister announces that she's to marry in a month's time, Patton determines to man-up in time for the pre-wedding festivities. Courtesy of her job and airline contacts, she embarks on an implausible 30-day, 30,000-mile odyssey, setting up "chance" encounters to sound out ex-boyfriends as potential hubby material. However, you won't be surprised to hear that her search for true and lasting love ends in a rather more Earth-bound location. Derek Luke, Taye Diggs and Djimon Hounsou, as Pattons's assorted friends and lovers, give the cast a gloss that the film doesn't really merit. It's fun in a dumb kind of way, but it sets feminism back several decades.
