How big is the WoW Forever player count?

At the time of writing, there are more than one million characters that have been created, which is a massive player-base already.

There is an almost perfect 50-50 split between factions, with 48.6% of players taking up the Alliance faction, whereas Horde remains the slightly larger faction at 51.4%.

In terms of character choices, Undead is apparently the most played race, so the game might be looking a bit like a zombie apocalypse with almost 200k Undead players roaming the servers. However, Humans still remain a popular race with 180k players, followed by Orcs at 110k.

But what class is the most popular? So far, players have been gravitating towards the Hunter class, with 15.3% of players picking up their bows.

Finally, there is also a 50-50 split between what types of servers players are choosing. Currently, 572k players are on the Player versus Player (PvP) server, whereas 575k players are navigating the Player versus Environment (PvE) server.

But, in a change of tradition, it appears that there are more Alliance players on the PvP server, and more Horde players on the PvE servers – however, the stats are all still extremely close.

With these stats, it's clear that whatever your class, race or playstyle, there will be like-minded players to venture forth with.
