Will Hytale come to console? What the developer has said

After a long old wait, Hytale is finally here in early access, giving players the chance to try out the Minecraft-like for themselves.

But it's only available on PC right now, meaning plenty of potential players can't get their hands on it just yet.

Are there plans to bring Hytale to consoles in the future? Here's what the developers themselves have said.

Will Hytale come to console? What the developer has said

The long and short of it is that there are plans to bring Hytale to consoles, but that it won't be for a very long time.

Hytale is still in pretty rough shape, which is why the developers have opted for an early access release, giving them plenty of time to iron out all the creases.

At the moment, the game isn't even available on Steam, since the devs want to make sure it's of a high enough quality before it hits storefronts.

As such, we likely won't see a console version of the game until Hytale's full release at the earliest, and potentially even further into the future than that.

Here's what the devs have said on the official Hytale website:

"The early access of Hytale will only be on PC. We are planning for a console release at a later stage, but this requires a lot of work on backend systems to make this a reality, so it's not something we want to invest resources into right now.

"For now, we would like to focus on making a good game first."

So, there you have it. Good news – Hytale is coming to consoles. Bad news – not for a long time. Them's the breaks, we're afraid!
