Fifth Gear

  • 2002
  • Lifestyle
  • Documentary and factual

Summary

"Fifth Gear" is essentially a clone of what "Top Gear" once was before Messrs Clarkson, May and Hammond spiced it up. Launched in 2002, it's a more sober affair than its BBC counterpart, featuring test-drives of new cars, group tests, head-to-head performance shootouts, vehicle-based challenges, consumer advice and interviews with celebrity guests. Regular presenters Tiff Needell and Vicki Butler-Henderson have worked alongside Quentin Willson, Tom Ford, Adrian Simpson, Jon Bentley, Jason Plato, Jonny Smith, Tim Shaw and Tim Lovejoy through various stages of the programme's life. The programme is initially shown on Channel 5, with repeats appearing on 5* and Dave.
