Summary

"Wheeler Dealers" is fronted by Mike Brewer and mechanic Edd China and airs on the Discovery network of channels. Brewer and China have a fixed budget per episode to buy and fix a vehicle they hope to sell on for a profit. The budget was £1,000 for series one, £2,000 for series two and £3,000 for series three. Budgets in subsequent series have varied depending on the target vehicle. Each project car is completed over two episodes and each one is restored and modified to the standard required to pass an MOT test. In the opening edition, Brewer and China transform a Porsche 924 by replacing several features, repairing a dent, repainting the wheels and making adjustments to the exhaust and engine. After completing the work, they sold the car and made a profit of £490. It premiered on the Discovery channel in 2003.
