Animated spy comedy featuring the voices of Will Smith and Tom Holland. After inadvertently ingesting a secret formula invented by young scientist Walter Beckett, arrogant super spy Lance Sterling finds himself turned into a pigeon. The newly feathered agent teams up with Walter to foil a terrorist plot - and work out how to get back to his suave human form.
A story about a secret agent who gets turned into a pigeon might sound strictly for the birds. But this animated spoof of James Bond-style spy stuff is really rather fun. Spider-Man star Tom Holland voices Walter, a science geek whose experimental bio-enhancement formula is inadvertently ingested by hapless agent Lance Sterling (Will Smith). The spy recruits Walter as his wingman after he's deemed to have gone rogue, needing all his hi-tech help to clear his name. The film's second half loses some of its charm and coherence, as hyperactive and formulaic action sequences take over. But enough pacey pigeon slapstick survives to at least keep kids amused, though the film's cyborg baddie may test the tolerance of more sensitive little souls.
