Lewis
Overview
Robbie Lewis is a changed man since his days as cheery second-in-command to the taciturn but brilliant Inspector Morse. Sobered by his wife's death in a hit-and-run three years before, he returns to Oxford from working overseas a graver man. However, his solid, workmanlike methods have earned him promotion to Detective Inspector, and he's got a shrewd new young sergeant, James Hathaway, in tow. His assistant's background in theology brings an intellectual edge to the partnership. Picking up from where Morse left off, the duo probe the darkest, most complex murders to take place beneath the city's dreaming spires.

"I've tried, but I can't think of a duller TV detective partnership than that of lumpen "I'm a bit thick, me, but I don't care" Detective Inspector Lewis and "I'm a pinched, posh git who quotes from classical works" Detective Sergeant Hathaway in Lewis..."
