Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn made a winning double act in Wedding Crashers, but, eight years later, they're just going through the motions in director Shawn Levy's clunky work culture-clash comedy. They play a pair of old-school salesmen who are forced to seek greener pastures after being made redundant. Google HQ in California turns out to be that garden paradise, in a film that, disturbingly, plays like a recruitment video for a cult with a Zen-like philosophy of interconnectedness. Wilson and Vaughn and their fellow (much younger) interns must compete for a job by taking part in a random and increasingly tedious series of challenges. And while the Harry Potter-loving whizz kids get their kicks playing a game of Quidditch, it falls to the older guys to show them how to have some real fun. Sadly, this feel-good factor doesn't translate to the audience. Levy's film may boast a hi-tech backdrop, but it's an old banger of a comedy, with Vaughn's mile-a-minute spiel especially rusty and Wilson looking too meditative throughout.
