Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

Weakly cast and excessively long, this fitfully exciting Second World War melodrama stars Michael Rennie and David Knight as two Polish patriots who discover the latest Nazi secret weapon - the flying missiles or "doodlebugs" that were eventually unleashed on London. Highlights are a bombing raid on a German research establishment and the appropriation of one of the robot bombs, but the low-budget production awkwardly mixes documentary footage from old enemy newsreels with standard underground heroics that were filmed in the Sussex countryside. Christopher Lee is briefly seen as a sadistic SS officer.
