Animated sci-fi comedy with the voices of Rob Corddry and Brendan Fraser. A little blue alien from the planet Baab must navigate danger on Earth when his astronaut brother is captured there in a dastardly trap set by evil humans.
This lightweight animated tale introduces two blue-skinned brothers from the planet Baab. Scorch Supernova (voiced by Brendan Fraser) is an astronaut, famous, reckless and egotistical. By contrast, brother Gary (Rob Corddry) is head of mission control, a button pusher, more grounded and serious. But, when Scorch's bravado leads to his capture by humans on "dark planet" Earth, it's Gary who has to man up and ride to his brother's rescue. The movie takes a little time to get going, but picks up pace and pep later on. It's not trying to break new ground, though the reversal of the usual human/alien roles is fun, and youngsters will enjoy the colourful design. Parents may enjoy some period sci-fi references and the vocal presence of William Shatner and Ricky Gervais (as a computer).
