Good Cop

Series 1 - Episode 4

Radio Times
Review by:
Alison Graham

Tormented, murdering cop John Rocksavage is lost in a vortex of rage and revenge that buffets him around both his professional and private lives.

As his dying dad wonders where his son disappears to during the night, Rocksavage (Warren Brown, who has done much with his first, proper leading role) pursues two thugs who are attacking women for kicks.

“I don’t like these two; I’m struggling to see them as people,” he says, so we know where this is going to end. As Stephen Butchard’s haunting drama (have any of you managed to forget that chilling attack in the first episode, because I haven’t) ends, Rocksavage — with a primal scream — bears the weight of guilt and responsibility as he confronts his actions.

About this programme

4/4. Costello and Sarge grow suspicious of Sav's quest to get Jonjo arrested for Andy's murder. But the frustrated cop has other things on his mind. He is angry that Amanda has agreed to pose as a student in an attempt to catch two men who have been attacking young women - especially as she will have no back-up - and when the set-up goes wrong, he decides to take his own course of action. Warren Brown stars as the vigilante policeman, with Mark Womack, Kevin Middleton and Kerrie Hayes. Last in the series.
