One EastEnders character certainly won't be seeing much of 2015 after the Grim Reaper pays a visit to Albert Square on New Year's Day.
Show bosses aren't yet revealing the identity of the resident who's about to meet their maker or the whys and wherefores of their demise, but the stage will definitely be set for an explosive start to the new year.
As well as the surprise death, viewers will also see the suspect list in the Lucy Beale murder case cut down to 11, while Ronnie Mitchell is set to marry Charlie Cotton.
A trailer recently released by the BBC1 soap shows plenty of explosive drama thanks to Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) discovering the truth about wife Linda's rape, while a car stunt looks to be causing carnage through the Square.
Speaking about his plans for 2015 and the run-up to the shows's 30th birthday in February, executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: "We'll be building towards the anniversary with big stories starting to rumble for Dot, Ian, Sharon and Phil We really want to go back to our origins."
