Angela Scanlon is quickly becoming a familiar face on TV. The Irish broadcaster has appeared as a reporter on The One Show since 2016, and earlier this year stepped in as a presenter while Alex Jones was on maternity leave. She also hosts the Robot Wars revival alongside comedian Dara O Briain.
The One Show has an excellent track record on Strictly (Matt Baker and Alex Jones), so it would make sense if Strictly recruiters took a look at their fellow BBC show. On top of that she’d win support from fans in Ireland – remember how beloved Daniel O’Donnell was back home?
Ross Kemp
EastEnders star turned documentary maker Ross Kemp recently said he had previously been asked to appear on Strictly and was even “going to do it” – but turned it down at the last minute. Now, it seems, the timing may finally be right.
Asked about Strictly on ITV’s Loose Women, Kemp told the panel: “Never say never…”
Kemp’s latest project is Ross Kemp: Extreme World, which has been broadcast on Sky1 since 2011. But the broadcaster has now cancelled the show after six series, so the TV personality could be looking for more opportunities.
