Montana has the worst luck.
Despite seeming to share a connection and enjoying some kissing under the covers, the most recent recoupling saw Simon dramatically ditch her for fellow newbie Tyla.
OK, so after seeing his snakey moves we think Montana’s actually better off without him… but that’s not the point. This isn’t the first rubbish twist she’s suffered and we just can’t get our heads around it.
“I still don’t understand why the guys aren’t fighting over Montana,” writes one fan on Twitter, with another viewer commenting: “They need to send doctors into the villa. These guys prefer Tyla and Amber over Camilla and Montana. Definite case of heatstroke.”
Another viewer summed it up nicely: “Why does everyone screw over Montana? She’s literally got the personality & body of an angel. I thought Simon would do her right.”
We completely agree. It’s like the boys in the villa can’t see what everyone else can. One search for Montana on social media and you can’t move for people falling over themselves for her.
She is one of the few islanders to leave us laughing out loud with her astute observations of both herself and her fellow contestants. Plus she’s intelligent, she’s got an all-round great personality and she’s a striking natural beauty – and yet she’s getting overlooked time and time again.
A Love Island original, right from the start, she’s been fab throughout. In fact, when I flew out to Mallorca at the start of this series of Love Island to interview the islanders, she was the girl I felt the most warmth towards.
Arguably her bad luck started after just 24 hours in the villa when Jess nicked Dom from her. But since then, things have gone from bad to worse. She had to couple up with Marcel as friends in week two before week three saw her pairing up in another friendship with Sam (poor woman).
She was left until last in the latest recoupling, as Dom – who’s basically taken a vow of celibacy since Jess departed – was left to choose her by default.
It seems so strange that Montana’s been left on the shelf while the boys fight it out over the other girls. Olivia had Mike and Chris caught in a love triangle, and now Amber has Kem and Simon battling over her too. Why isn’t there the same enthusiasm for Mon?
With a dumping around the corner, some fans are now planning to vote tactically for her and Dom as a couple. Although they’d be happy to have him dumped, they can’t bear to see Montana go.
But to be honest, much like our other girl crush Camilla, we don’t think that any of the current boys in the villa are good enough for her anyway. Montana’s kissed enough frogs now, and maybe the huge twist coming up this week (where the couples are separated and a whole batch of new boys put in to meet the girls) will mean that she finally finds the right man for her.
Love Island airs at 9pm on ITV2
