The First Lady has recruited some big-name artists for a charity single entitled This Is For My Girls.
Missy Elliott, Kelly Clarkson, Lea Michelle and Kelly Rowland are among the artists featured on the track, which Obama describes as “We are the world meets Lady Marmalade”.
It was penned by multi Academy Award nominee Diane Warren, whose previous work includes Celine Dion’s Because You Loved Me and LeAnn Rimes and Trisha Yearwood’s How Do I Live.
Obama unveiled the single ahead of her speech at the SXSW festival, where she was talking about her Let Girls Learn initiative, which aims to increase education rates amongst adolescent girls globally. Proceeds from the track, which is available via iTunes, will go to the campaign.
