Rowan Atkinson to star in two more Maigret films for ITV

French detective Jules is back for more feature-length films

Rowan Atkinson told Radio Times in March that he’d initially had reservations about playing Jules Maigret – but the French detective must have got under his skin because he’s coming back for another two films.

ITV aired Maigret Sets a Trap earlier this year and now writer Stewart Harcourt (Love & Marriage) will adapt Paris-set Night At the Crossroads from Georges Simenon’s novel, followed by Maigret in Montmartre which is also set in 1950s French capital.

Simenon’s son, John, will be executive producer of the two-hour long films, and they’ll go into production in November 2016 until February 2017.
