Episode 7 – The Perfect Gentleman

What it’s about

The bittersweet penultimate episode follows the story of Bobby, a Jack the Lad and all-round ladies man. “They said I could cure hysteria by inducing paroxysms,” he claims. However, there’s a twist: Bobby is really a woman, living a lifestyle not accepted in 1929.

Who’s in it?

Gemma Whelan. Yup, Yara Greyjoy from Game of Thrones. And, although many didn’t recognise her, Whelan also appeared as Karen Matthews in drama The Moorside.

Who wrote it?

Jackie Clune: writer, actress and singer. As well as having features published in the likes of The Guardian and The Independent, Cune has written a novel called Man of the Month Club. She’s also a regular contributor to the Jeremy Vine show and can be heard on Radio 4 shows such as Front Row, Woman’s Hour and Loose Ends.


Episode 8 – Something Borrowed

What’s it about?

The last instalment anchors on Steve, who, thanks to the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act in 2013, is soon to wed. But that means the anxious groom has to write a speech and consider what’s been won and lost on the way to this milestone.

Scottish-American actor Alan Cumming. He’s starred in everything from James Bond (GoldenEye) to Spy Kids and even The Smurfs.
