How Britain feels about the end of Downton Abbey

We've been confused, upset and distraught. And once it's over life will never be the same again.

The end is almost upon us. After six glorious years and six series, the Crawleys are preparing to say their final farewells.

This past year has been tough. Since it was confirmed that series six would be the last all Downton Abbey fans have been buckled in to the same rollercoaster of emotions. Because, well, we all love Downton Abbey…

More than Mary loves pig muck.

Everything is right with the world when it’s on ITV on a Sunday.

So we were a little confused when it was cancelled…

Okay, maybe more than a little

We were distraught, ALRIGHT?

It ruined our year.

But we got out our stiff upper lips…

And pulled ourselves together.

Because there was still another series.

Eight whole episodes…

Stuffed full of Crawley drama.

But then they all went by so quickly…

The end is nigh and we don’t quite know what to do about it.

Naturally, we are trying to distract ourselves,

But the fact of the matter is, our lives will never be the same again.

Everything from here on out will be awful.

It’s just a fact and we won’t listen to anyone who tells us otherwise.

Downton Abbey series six concludes on Sunday at 9:00pm on ITV, before returning for a final Christmas special
