Will Gardner – or rather Josh Charles, the actor who played him – is back from the dead. The Good Wife star is poised to make his return to the small screen in Masters of Sex, his first role since his shocking and sudden departure from the legal drama last year.
Charles is swapping his life as high-flying Chicago lawyer Will for the role of charismatic self-made salesman Daniel Logan, who ends up meeting Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) and Bill Masters (Michael Sheen) when he attempts to bottle the smell of sex and market it as an aphrodisiac to the public.
Charles isn’t the only new thing about the sexy series. The drama, starring Caplan and Sheen as the real-life groundbreaking sex researchers, will be making a five-year time jump for its third run. Season three will be set in 1966 as Masters and Johnson find themselves in the public eye after publishing their study in the midst of the sexual revolution.
