Benedict Cumberbatch, Jamie Dornan and Eddie Redmayne are Britain’s best dressed men…sometimes

The three actors have been crowned 2015's sharpest dressers - and to celebrate we recall their more unusual ensembles

Yesterday, GQ released their annual best-dressed list – and there weren’t too many surprises. Topping the list were feted actors Eddie Redmayne, Benedict Cumberbatch and Jamie Dornan, with the top ten also including the likes of Prince Charles, Douglas Booth and Idris Elba.

While congratulations are in order for anyone who made the cut (or merely avoided the magazine’s worst-dressed list), we feel that Redmayne, Cumberbatch and Dornan particularly deserve their top spots – they have an eye for style and an ability to pull off outfits that no-one else would ever dare to try.

For example, The Theory of Everything’s Eddie Redmayne undoubtedly earned his place at number one – who else could pull off this avant-garde style with such panache?

Or really prove that Stetsons are cool?

And even cut a dash as they fight for freedom?

Or – well he’s not wearing clothes here. That happens a bit in acting. But it’s done…stylishly?

As for Benedict Cumberbatch, he takes things to another sartorial level. Anyone can make a sharp suit look good, but can they rock the PJs and dressing gown look – in the middle of the day?

Benedict really likes to push the envelope – forget the Belstaff coats from Sherlock, this season the must-have accessory for any well-to-do fashion victim is a grey leotard, with mini ping-pong ball accessories à la Cumberbatch as Smaug in The Hobbit trilogy.

Or…whatever this is.

Not that he seems to like clothes all that much. Can he really be called best dressed when he’s so often halfway into his birthday suit? We think so.

And as for The Fall’s Jamie Dornan, well…

Yeah, this guy is so well-dressed. That’s why he’s so popular. Wearing clothes. That must be it.
