Jada Pinkett Smith auditioned for Gotham with a shirtless man on a lead

The actress, who plays a devilish mob leader in the Batman TV series, did some disturbing yet impressive method acting to get the part...

Dark, sleazy Gotham is heaving with villains but apparently Jada Pinkett Smith, who plays mob leader Fish Mooney alongside The OC’s Ben McKenzie, used her audition for the Batman TV series to show just how depraved her character could be.

At a Gotham event at a New York TV festival, Collider reported Pinkett Smith’s explanation as to how she got the part.

“Well, what was interesting was that I took a meeting with Bruno in L.A., and then I got to meet Danny in New York.  I came in with a gown and a short black wig, with a young man on a leash, who had no shirt on and “liar” written across his forward in lipstick.  That was my first introduction to Danny.  I thought, “Forget it, instead of talking about who Fish Mooney is, let me just show him.

“I went method on it.”

She certainly did. To persuade a man to crawl shirtless into an audition room on a leash, Pinkett Smith must have really wanted that part.

Let’s just hope they didn’t take the bus there.
