Comedians unite for one final basketball game to honour Garry Shandling

Judd Apatow and Jeffrey Tambor were among the Hollywood funnymen gathered to shoot some hoops in memory of their friend

The comedy world gathered to mourn the death of Larry Sanders Show creator Garry Shandling over the weekend with a special basketball game in his honour.

Shandling was well known for organising basketball matches with his comedy pals, so they figured it would be a fitting tribute to the star, who died following a suspected heart attack at the age of 66.

Kathy Griffin, Bill Maher, and Jeffrey Tambor were among the roster of players, which also featured Judd Apatow.

The writer and director took to Instagram to share a touching tribute to Shandling from all those gathered to shoot some hoops.

One last game of basketball at Garry's house to say goodbye.
