Episode 14: Smooth Criminal

Summary

The team investigates a series of shootings at a nightclub, where a bartender and two patrons were killed by a hitman, who then proceeded to kidnap someone. Hawes is stunned when the abducted woman is revealed to be Camille Jordanson, a childhood friend who has become embroiled in a messy counterfeit pill scheme and seems to have made a few enemies in the criminal underworld. Guest starring singer Ne-Yo.

Review

Going to parties or clubs is entertainment best avoided, if you’re the sort of person who takes tips from any member of the CSI franchise. Just think of all those opening scenes where everyone is having a lovely time at a do until someone comes along with a gun.

Which is precisely what happens here in the increasingly tired-looking CSI: NY, where a young lady is enjoying the ambience of a newly opened nightclub and being chatted up at the bar. But the smarmy bloke is out to cause mayhem by shooting two customers and the bartender.

Detective Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) is on the case, though he sounds as if he has a cold and looks as if he’d rather be at home with his feet up.
