Episode 20: The Tenure Turbulence

Summary

The guys compete for a tenured professor position at the university, leading them to try to win over the committee in charge of appointing a new staff member, and arguing about who deserves the spot the most. However, the panel includes Mrs Davis from Human Resources, whom Sheldon has crossed paths with before. Guest starring Regina King.

Review

A senior vacancy at Caltech brings out the competitive instinct in the boys, in an unsurprisingly laddish instalment. Raj sends the interviewer a 90-minute video, Sheldon resorts to inappropriate gifts and Leonard deploys his secret weapon: Penny in a gravity-defying little black dress. But will they all be trumped by Barry Kripke, the Elmer Fudd-ish plasma physicist who seems to be making all the right noises?

Routine-enslaved genius Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) is the nucleus around which the other characters revolve like electrons. As such he’s normally fed the best lines, and tonight it’s, “Or the chainsaw.” You’ll have to tune in to find out why.
