Review

Eleven years after the September 11 attacks we could be forgiven for thinking that there are no stories left to tell. We would be wrong. Pasquale Buzzelli fell 15 floors when the North Tower collapsed, and emerged with just a broken ankle.

The story of someone “surfing” the wreckage was an instant urban legend. A forensic expert who inspected the wreckage is sceptical, but we hear from Buzzelli and the firefighters who found him: “He looked like he was in a medieval castle, sitting on top of the pile, all by himself.”
