Episode 9: Let's Get Out of Here

Summary

The showdown between the witches and vampires concludes with Eric falling under Antonia's spell and being reprogrammed to assassinate Bill. A V-addled Debbie cooks up a scheme to ensure Sookie will not steal Alcide's affections, and Tommy tries to make amends with Sam by confronting alpha werewolf Marcus. Meanwhile, Jesus is forced to intervene when a possessed Lafayette ends up in a stand-off with the Bellefleurs.

Review

As the end of series four looms, the days when True Blood was merely about vampires and humans now look like mundane, kitchen-sink realism. Tonight, a couple of plotlines are hastily rubbed out and new ones scribbled in, the climax being a gun-toting showdown between drug-tainted hicks the Bellefleurs, and Lafayette. Jesus sorts it out. I mean Jesus the character, although at this point you wouldn’t blink if the actual Jesus rode in on a moped.
