Episode 13: The Ripple Effect

Summary

The team investigates when a man is found dead at the bottom of a flight of steps after fleeing from an argument, but his injuries make it hard to determine exactly how he died. In a seemingly unrelated incident a jogger is strangled and pinned to a tree by an arrow, but an unusual variety of chewing gum links the two crimes. Drama, starring Gary Sinise and Sela Ward.

Review

The police are usually the ones who do the hunting in New York, but when a man is found with an arrow in his chest, Mac’s team discover that the country life is alive and well in the city.

All the tweezers in the department can’t pluck a satisfying plotline from this week’s events, but there are some cockle-warming human moments. Mac pays a visit to Christine (Megan Dodds), whose well-judged vegetable-buying skills tell us that she might be suitable for romance with Mac, and Jo tries to discover what’s making Sid miss work, sweat like crazy and snap those pull-apart glasses like a man with something to hide.
