Episode 9: Means to an End

Summary

The case against alleged serial rapist John Curtis is put in jeopardy when he is freed on bail after a witness is declared unreliable. Crime drama, starring Gary Sinise and Sela Ward.

Review

Rapist John Curtis might be curiously bland for a CSI villain, but there’s so much drama surrounding his case that a lack of a convincing evil streak doesn’t seem to matter so much. In the previous episode he was freed on low bail after the crime lab’s evidence, along with complainant Ali Rand, failed to convince the judge.

For Jo, who fired former FBI colleague Frank Waters over the errors he made on the Curtis case, one mistake is too many. As she tries to trace Curtis’s victims – and work out whose accusations ring true – we get a crash course in international “gentlemen’s weapons” and she finds herself, very briefly, in the shoes of a victim.
